About

me

I’m Steven She and I’m a currently a graduate student at the University of Waterloo in the Generative Software Development Lab. Take a look at my academic website over at the University of Waterloo.

I’m basically live in two cities. During the weekdays, I live in Waterloo, where I should be since I’m a full-time student at the university there. On the weekends, I make the trek back to Toronto to visit family and friends.

Linux is great. I’m currently using Arch Linux as my primary operating system. What drew me to to Arch Linux was its incredibly simple package management and system maintenance model. Occasionally on this site, you may see a walkthrough on setting up a program, or more commonly, fixing an annoyance in Linux.

The origins of woggie.net belong to my stuffed dog that was given to me when I was born. I’ve grown quite attached to it over the year and if you’ve looked the photo gallery, then you’ve probably seen a picture of it :)

I love all things science fiction which is why it isn’t surprising that I am also a big fan of Star Trek. I seem to know a lot of useless trivia about the shows, partially owing that as a result of having owned the Star Trek Encyclopedia at a very young age. I also seem to have a knack for enjoying shows that have been prematurely cancelled. I still remember when I read an article stating that the show John Doe would not be returning the following season. Of course, mentioning a cancelled television show isn’t complete without mentioning Firefly. More recently, I really liked Jericho, Journeyman and Defying Gravity. Man, I was really disappointed when I heard that Defying Gravity wasn’t being renewed, much less having its remainer of its season put on haitus. That show really had potential.

My latest hobby is photography. I shoot with a Canon Rebel XS with a Tamron 28-75mm lens. Take a look through my Flickr gallery.
